Horizon 2020: tweede tussentijds rapport

De Europese Commissie publiceerde zonet het tweede tussentijds rapport over Horizon 2020.

Onder de voornaamste algemene bevindingen noteren we:

  • Met een slaagpercentage van 11,8% (i.e. slechts 1 op de tien voorstellen wordt gefinancierd), blijft overinschrijving een serieus probleem. In 2015 was het slaagpercentage lager dan in 2014.
  • COM levert inspanningen om de tijd tot ondertekening in te korten: 90% van de contracten werd getekend binnen 8 maanden na de oproep.
  • De helft van de deelnemers in Horizon 2020 zijn nieuwkomers.
  • De doelstelling van 20% voor de deelname van KMO’s wordt bereikt.
  • Universiteiten blijft de groep die het meeste ontvangt uit het programma.

Met betrekking tot België stellen we vast:

  • Het aantal ingediende voorstellen stijgt, net als in alle andere lidstaten.
  • België heeft het beste slaagpercentage met 18,4% van de voorstellen die wordt gefinancierd.
  • België staat op de zevende plaats voor wat betreft het aantal ondertekende contracten. Verenigd Koninkrijk heeft het grootste aantal contracten.
  • België ontvangt ruim 5% van de middelen. Duitsland ontvangt het grootste aandeel met bijna 20%.
  • België scoort redelijk zwak voor het KMO-instrument, zowel wat betreft aantal ingediende voorstellen als qua slaagkans.

Flanders Looks ahead to the Tenth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation

Although Horizon Europe (= the ninth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation) is only halfway through, preparations for its successor have already begun. Therefore, in Flanders, the Working Group 12 of the Flemish Stakeholder Platform for European Programmes (VEP), has drafted a reflection paper on the future FP10. A similar exercise was done in the past for the current Horizon Europe programme.
