EUvsVirus: Pan-Europese Hackathon voor innovatieve oplossingen

De Europese Commissie en de Europese lidstaten hebben op 14 april een oproep gepubliceerd voor deelname aan een pan-Europese Hackathon. Deze Hackathon moet innovatoren, partners en kopers over Europa met elkaar verbinden om innovatieve oplossingen te ontwikkelen voor het coronavirus.

De Hackathon zal plaatsvinden op 24, 25 en 26 april en is gestructureerd rond categorieën van problemen die kortetermijnoplossingen nodig hebben, nl.

  • coronavirus gezondheid en leven,
  • bedrijfscontinuïteit,
  • werken en onderwijs op afstand,
  • sociale en politieke cohesie,
  • digitale financiering, en
  • een open categorie voor andere uitdagingen.

Alle 27 EU-lidstaten nemen deel, alsook Noorwegen, Israël, Zwitserland, Turkije, Oekraïne en het VK. De winnende oplossingen zullen uitgenodigd worden om zich te voegen bij het European Innovation Council Platform dat connecties met eindgebruikers (bv. ziekenhuizen) zal faciliteren en toegang zal voorzien voor investeerders, stichtingen en andere financieringsopportuniteiten van de Europese Commissie.

Flanders Looks ahead to the Tenth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation

Although Horizon Europe (= the ninth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation) is only halfway through, preparations for its successor have already begun. Therefore, in Flanders, the Working Group 12 of the Flemish Stakeholder Platform for European Programmes (VEP), has drafted a reflection paper on the future FP10. A similar exercise was done in the past for the current Horizon Europe programme.
