Werkgelegenheid in Vlaamse circulaire economie groeit drie keer sneller dan gemiddeld

De circulaire economie blijkt een sterke groeimotor voor de creatie van jobs in Vlaanderen. De werkgelegenheid in de bedrijven groeide de voorbije 10 jaar bijna 3 keer sneller dan in de hele Vlaamse economie. Ruim 43.000 werknemers zijn er momenteel aan de slag. Dat blijkt uit een nieuwe studie van het Steunpunt Circulaire Economie en het onderzoeksconsortium MICHELLE op vraag van de Vlaamse minister Hilde Crevits en Zuhal Demir. Vlaams minister van Economie en Innovatie maakt in het kader van het relanceplan Vlaamse veerkracht ook volop werk van onderzoek en innovatie in de circulaire economie.

Minister Hilde Crevits: “Het is duidelijk dat de Vlaamse economie de sprong voorwaarts moet maken naar een circulaire economie, niet enkel voor onze CO₂ uitstoot en het klimaat, maar ook voor meer duurzame jobcreatie. Het zal onze Vlaamse economie nog sterker maken."

"Daarom voorzie ik 45 miljoen euro in het Vlaamse Relanceplan voor onderzoek en innovatie in de circulaire economie. Zo houden we onze circulaire bedrijven productief en stomen we hen klaar voor maatschappelijke uitdagingen of trends.”

Flanders Looks ahead to the Tenth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation

Although Horizon Europe (= the ninth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation) is only halfway through, preparations for its successor have already begun. Therefore, in Flanders, the Working Group 12 of the Flemish Stakeholder Platform for European Programmes (VEP), has drafted a reflection paper on the future FP10. A similar exercise was done in the past for the current Horizon Europe programme.
