Flanders Technology & Innovation festival zet Vlaamse expertise tien dagen lang in de kijker

Deze middag werd in het Gentse Wintercircus het officiële startschot gegeven van het tiendaagse Flanders Technology & Innovation festival. Het technologie- en innovatiefestival moet de Vlaamse expertise in beide domeinen tien dagen lang in de kijker zetten.

Het festival vindt van 15 tot en met 24 maart plaats in zes verschillende steden (Gent, Kortrijk, Hasselt, Antwerpen, Leuven en Brussel). In iedere stad worden de lokale ecosystemen belicht.

Zo wordt Antwerpen een ontmoetingsplaats voor financiers en start- en scale-ups, terwijl Brussel onder meer inzoomt op artificiële intelligentie. Leuven zet gezondheid en welzijn centraal, Hasselt gaat voor circulariteit, energie en mobiliteit en Gent focust op gezondheidstechnologie en bio- en agrotechnologie. In Kortrijk, ten slotte, wordt de entertainmenttechnologie in de kijker gezet.

Als afsluiter vindt op 23 en 24 maart een slotfestival plaats in het Sportpaleis en de Lotto Arena in Antwerpen.

Het festival is een opvolger voor de Flanders Technology beurs die meer dan 40 jaar geleden, ook in Gent, voor het eerst plaatsvond. De bedoeling is dat het festival voortaan tweejaarlijks plaatsvindt.

Flanders Looks ahead to the Tenth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation

Although Horizon Europe (= the ninth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation) is only halfway through, preparations for its successor have already begun. Therefore, in Flanders, the Working Group 12 of the Flemish Stakeholder Platform for European Programmes (VEP), has drafted a reflection paper on the future FP10. A similar exercise was done in the past for the current Horizon Europe programme.
