Overheidsbudget voor wetenschap en innovatie lag in 2024 op 3,5 miljard euro

Het totale Vlaamse overheidsbudget voor wetenschap en innovatie lag bij de begrotingsopmaak van 2024 op 3,5 miljard euro. Dat is 7,3% meer dan in 2023.

Tussen 2009 en 2024 nam het budget voor wetenschap en innovatie in lopende prijzen toe met 99%.

Het grootste deel van de overheidskredieten voor wetenschap en innovatie is bestemd voor ‘onderzoek en ontwikkeling (O&O)’. In 2024 was die post goed voor 2,29 miljard euro.

Daarna komt ‘onderwijs en vorming’ (1,09 miljard euro).

De post ‘wetenschappelijke en technologische dienstverlening’ is veel kleiner (158 miljoen euro).

Flanders Looks ahead to the Tenth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation

Although Horizon Europe (= the ninth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation) is only halfway through, preparations for its successor have already begun. Therefore, in Flanders, the Working Group 12 of the Flemish Stakeholder Platform for European Programmes (VEP), has drafted a reflection paper on the future FP10. A similar exercise was done in the past for the current Horizon Europe programme.
